This trip introduces you to the lush countryside, rice fields, farmers' life, which has dominated Vietnam's culture.
Song Phuong Vegetable Village where you have opportunity to do gardening with local farmers some seasonal works as ranking, watering or picking. Time to get in touch with the Vietnamese Northern farmers and learn more about the wet-rice cultivation civilization and their living. This morning is ended with a lunch in a local house and you will enjoy local dishes, seasonal vegetable, fruits and Vietnamese green tea.
Thay Pagoda - a complex of temples, communal houses and pagoda nestled at the foot of a large limestone cliff formation, characteristic of the area. It is said that the traditional water puppet theatre originated here.
Tay Phuong Pagoda which is situated on the top of Buffalo Mountain. This pagoda could be the most beautiful pagoda in Northern Vietnam with an ancient architecture, impressive wooden statues of Buddha and Arhats.
Itinerary in details:
08:30: leave Hanoi and drive west. To the west of the city there are many small farms, where much of the produce sold in the city markets is grown. There are vegetable gardens, tropical fruits and very hospitable local people. Our destination is Song Phuong Vegetable Village.
09:00: we will tour around vegetable fields growing a variety of produce, including cauliflower, cabbage, tomato, green peas, Chinese peas, and corn, as well as fruit gardens with oranges, pomelo, papaya and more.
09:30: we will join a farmer working in his field. You will have the opportunity to help in the work of the small land-holding. Depending on the season this will involve raking, sowing, watering greens, picking greens and other gardening activities. You will be having the opportunity to ask experienced local farmers about cultivation techniques and lifestyle.
12:00: Lunch is with a local family giving you the opportunity to taste some local dishes, delicious vegetables, local fruit and Vietnamese tea.
13:30: we leave Song Phuong Vegetable Village to drive back Hanoi.
On the way, visit Thay Pagoda and Tay Phuong Pagoda.
Back to your hotel in Hanoi.
